Hello, Cabarrus!

My name is Kim DeLaney. I have resided in Concord for over 15 years. I have raised my two beautiful children here. Creating my small business footprint here too. Concord has supported my dreams and I am proud to call Cabarrus my home. Hailing from East Tennessee I value community and small town charm, it runs in my veins.

I have made many wonderful connections and meaningful friendships while learning a lot about our city, how it works and how it’s growing. With the changes we are all experiencing, it’s crucial we don’t leave our valuable neighbors behind.

North Carolina ranks #2 in the U.S. for small business! I want to develop systems and tools to ensure our Cabarrus businesses not only succeed but thrive!

Recently, HGTV named Concord one of America's "Most Charming Small-Town Downtowns". We are no longer a secret. Folks love our area and are making it their home too. Sadly we are running out of space to house them. And housing prices keep climbing. We live in a “Hot Market”. Meaning, it may not get cheaper any time soon. I will work to write legislation to provide building incentives and increase housing stock to address homeownership opportunities.

I am no politician. But I do enjoy helping my community. I like to dissect issues and find real solutions. I am a mom that sees the gaps in our systems. An employer that hears the fears of my team. We have a good foundation. Now let’s unite so we can all thrive, together, in Cabarrus County. A Place to Live. A Place to Grow.
